Jody Cortez, the imaginative mind behind “Featuring Cosmos True Light,” is a storyteller with roots in Miami, Florida. Born in 1960, Jody’s journey as an author unfolds against a backdrop of diverse experiences. After graduating from Nurnberg American High School in 1978, Jody’s time in Germany shaped his worldview. He studied abroad, played music, and worked as an editor for the school newspaper, sparking a passion for storytelling.
Jody’s parents, both educators and authors, laid the foundation for his creative endeavors. His mom, Lydia Cortez, later earned recognition for her philanthropy, donating educational materials to St. Jude Hospitals.
Inspired by family characters like HandyCandy and the Egowaggles, Jody created Featuring Cosmos True Light—a magical series dedicated to his late fan, Cherie Crane. The books aim to spread love and encourage acceptance. It demonstrates Jody Cortez’s commitment to inspiring positive change.
Beyond writing, Jody’s ultimate goal is to turn readers into Love waggle ambassadors, promoting the concept of one love. He encourages parents to teach children the beauty of being unique, different, and special, fostering a world of acceptance and understanding.
